Starling Assistant, Revolut AIR or one hub?

Starling Assistant, Revolut AIR or one hub? Compare the two bank-run AI assistants with Claude and ChatGPT connected to every account through Era today.

Starling Assistant and Revolut AIR are good at one thing each: answering questions about the money you hold with that bank. If you also hold money elsewhere, which most of us do, the answer that sees everything is Claude or ChatGPT connected to all your accounts through Era. Many people use a bank's assistant for the bank and Era for the whole picture.

What is Starling Assistant?

Starling Assistant is the AI assistant inside the Starling app, launched on 20 March 2026. It helps you with your Starling accounts: finding transactions, understanding your spending and getting things done in the app. It knows Starling well, because it is part of Starling.

It sees Starling accounts only. Anything you keep at another bank, a broker or a card issuer is outside its view, which is how a bank-run assistant is built.

What is Revolut AIR?

Revolut AIR is Revolut's AI assistant for money, which reached UK customers on 9 April 2026. It works with your Revolut balances, cards, vaults and spending, and it sits in the Revolut app where those things live, so asking it a question about your Revolut money is quick and natural.

Like Starling Assistant, it is an assistant for one provider. It is a pleasant way to ask about Revolut, and it does not know about the Monzo account your wages land in or the Barclaycard you pay off each month.

What do bank-run assistants do best?

They are close to the product. They can open the right screen, explain a fee in the bank's own terms and act inside the app with the bank's own permissions. If your question is about how something works at Starling or Revolut, ask them, because nobody is better placed to answer.

They are also free to use for customers and need no setup, which makes them an easy first step into asking an assistant about money.

What can a bank-run assistant not do?

It cannot see the rest of your money. Ask Starling Assistant whether you can afford a holiday and it knows your Starling balance, but not your Revolut pot, your NatWest savings or your Trading 212 ISA. It also keeps what it learns inside one bank, so your goals do not follow you to another assistant.

Most of us have a salary account, a savings pot, a card and perhaps a broker, spread across three or four providers. A question about the whole of your money needs all of them in view.

What does one hub add?

Era connects Monzo, Starling, Revolut, Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Nationwide, Wise, PayPal and the rest to Claude, ChatGPT and every other assistant through open banking. The assistant you prefer sees every account at once, with your approval in each bank's app.

It also remembers. Tell Claude you are saving for a deposit and ChatGPT already knows. Era turns your accounts into financial health figures with the analysis behind them, lets you share a space with a partner, and reads your statements and payslips in the Document Library. You choose the assistant, and you can change your mind next year without starting again.

How do I choose?

Use both. Ask Starling Assistant or Revolut AIR about their own products, and ask Claude or ChatGPT through Era about your money as a whole. The two do not compete, because one knows a bank and the other knows you.

If you only want one, choose by the question. How does this fee work is a question for the bank. Where does my money go, and what should I change, is a question for an assistant that sees every account.

How do I connect everything to Claude or ChatGPT?

Create an account at era.app, connect each bank and approve it in its own app, then add Era to your assistant. The whole thing takes a few minutes for each bank, and after that Claude, ChatGPT or any other assistant you add can read every account you linked, with your approval on each consent screen.

The guides to connecting Claude to your bank account and connecting ChatGPT to your bank account take you through it.

Start with the provider-specific pages if you want the detail: Starling, Revolut and Monzo. For the wider picture, does Claude support open banking in the UK? explains why the route works.
