Connect Trading 212 to Claude: Era or the API?

Connect Trading 212 to Claude or ChatGPT. Trading 212 has an API but no MCP server; Era links your ISA and holdings to every assistant, with no coding.

You can connect Trading 212 to Claude two ways: build something on Trading 212's API, or link the account in Era and have every assistant read your holdings with no code. The first suits developers who enjoy the work. The second takes a few minutes and works in Claude, ChatGPT and the rest.

Does Trading 212 have an MCP server?

Trading 212 has a public API for its accounts but no official MCP server for Claude or ChatGPT. A developer can write one on top of the API, using a key from the Trading 212 settings, and several people have. It is a fine weekend project, and it is more upkeep than most of us want for our own ISA.

Era is the ready-made route. It connects Trading 212 as a brokerage account, brings in your holdings and your history, and then offers every assistant a single, consent-based connection to them.

How do I connect Trading 212 to Claude with Era?

Link Trading 212 in Era, then add Era to Claude. Era connects to your Trading 212 account through a brokerage connection, so you approve access with Trading 212 and never hand over your login. Claude then has one connection to your holdings and your banks, and setup takes a few minutes.

  1. Sign up at era.app and choose Connect your accounts.
  2. Pick Trading 212 from the brokerage list and approve access with Trading 212.
  3. Return to Era and wait a moment while your positions arrive.
  4. In Claude, add Era from the connector directory, or use https://context.era.app/mcp as a custom connector.
  5. Approve the consent screen and ask a question.

Which route is right for me: the API or Era?

Choose the API if you want to build your own tool and are happy to look after a key and some code. Choose Era if you want to ask questions in plain English today, across Trading 212 and your bank accounts, with a consent screen you control and a record of what each assistant did.

A third route needs no connection at all. Export your Trading 212 history as a statement and upload it to the Document Library, which fills a manual account with the transactions. It suits anyone who would rather not share a live connection, and Claude can still answer from it.

What can my assistant see in Trading 212?

Era brings in your Trading 212 holdings, your cash and the trades behind them: the stocks and funds you own, how many units, what you paid and what each is worth. Whether you hold a Stocks and Shares ISA, an invest account or a Cash ISA, an assistant can look across them with the rest of your money.

That makes broader questions possible. Ask what share of your net worth sits in Trading 212, how your ISA allowance is going this tax year, or how much you have added each month, set against what the market did to it. Era also builds your net worth across providers, so the answer includes your savings and your current account.

Can ChatGPT read my Trading 212 account?

Yes. ChatGPT reads Trading 212 through the same Era connection as Claude, so linking once covers both. Add Era as a connector in ChatGPT, approve the consent screen, and ask about your holdings, your ISA contributions or how your portfolio has moved over the year.

Connect ChatGPT to your bank account walks through the steps.

Does Trading 212 work with Gemini?

Yes. Gemini can use Era as a connector and read the Trading 212 holdings you share. It suits questions such as which of your holdings has grown most this year, or how your pies and funds split between regions. You can switch it off in Era whenever you like.

Does Trading 212 work with Perplexity?

Yes. Perplexity can use Era as a connector, so it can pair its research with your Trading 212 holdings. You might ask it about the companies in your portfolio, and have it read what you actually own to keep the answer relevant to you.

Does Trading 212 work with Grok?

Yes. Grok reads your Trading 212 holdings through Era once you approve the consent screen. Add Era as a connector in Grok, accept the consent screen, and it can answer direct questions about what you own, from your real positions, with no login shared.

Does Trading 212 work with Meta's Muse?

Yes. Meta's Muse can connect to Era and read the Trading 212 holdings you have shared. You approve it on Era's consent screen, you can switch it off whenever you like, and your Trading 212 connection stays in place while Muse sees only what you allow.

Does Trading 212 work with Instinct?

Yes. Instinct connects to Era and reads your Trading 212 holdings along with the rest, so a question about your portfolio gets an answer from your real positions. You approve access with Trading 212, so no assistant ever handles your login.

Questions to ask about your Trading 212 holdings

  • "What are my five largest holdings, and what share of my portfolio is each?"
  • "How much of this year's ISA allowance have I used?"
  • "What did my portfolio return since January, after what I added?"
  • "How much of my net worth is in Trading 212?"
  • "Which holdings overlap if I own several funds?"

Era reads your holdings and does not place trades. Moving money is in private beta, off by default for every key, and every transfer needs your approval.

Is it safe to connect Trading 212?

Yes. You approve access with Trading 212 and can withdraw it there at any time, and Era never sees your Trading 212 password. Era encrypts your data with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, never sells it, and no model provider trains on it.
